Introduction:
Today is the first day of our blog! Here we will be sharing our progress updates, any blockers we are currently having and any changes to our initial concept as our project develops.
Concept:
Our initial concept, created by our product owners, was called Trade Access. The idea behind this starts with trade workers who struggle in their workspace due to learning disabilities. Our goal is to design a solution that provides support and information accessible and easier to understand.
Progress update:
So far we have:
Completed assigning roles and rules.
Set up a project management environment to optimize organization.
Set up communication channels and tools to further help us with our project.
In the process of finalizing our logo and our brand’s colours.
In the process of analyzing competitors and researching and finding out more about our target audience.
Our blockers:
Too many ideas and realizing we need to scope down, while still trying to differentiate ourselves from our competition.
Ideation in progress:
We are still in the early stages of ideation and working to finalize our branding and colours. During this process one of our teammates shared a unique perspective of what the users could experience in our app as they interact with it, they will have that “Got It!” moment, a feeling of clarity and understanding. This helps us visualize how we think about the user experience, and it is also where our name stems from.
Setting roles and rules:
To make sure we stay aligned and hold ourselves and our teammates accountable, we established rules, roles and responsibilities to ensure smooth collaboration.
Milestone:
After meeting with our instructors, we realized our ideas were out of scope. Their feedback helped point us towards a clearer direction ensuring our project remains focused and achievable.
Where we are as a team:
As a team we have communicated our rules and success criteria for the completion of our project. Everyone understands their roles and responsibilities and we are motivated not only to win, but to gain meaningful experience through this journey.
What’s Next?:
Our next step would be to:
Refine and move closer to finalizing our logo and colours.
Survey and interview trade workers to fully grasp their struggles.
Meet with our advisor.
Scope down and prioritize our MVP, ensuring we focus on what is essential.
We look forward to seeing our vision come to life and create something meaningful and impactful.
